Cool Hero Conquers New Territories: Solid Sales for "Fun With Claude"

Loveable polar bear just nominated for Best Pre-School Series at Cartoons on the Bay

Mainz, (lifePR) - ZDF Enterprises has been registering strong sales of its children's animated series "Fun With Claude" (52 x 10') in recent months. The series about the little polar bear Claude, who moves to a warmer clime with his family, has been confirming its universal appeal with sales to major broadcasters. Among them are Italy's RAI and Disney Channel, Spain's TV3, Australia's ABC, Sweden's SVT, Norway's NRK, Finland's YLE 2, Poland's Canal+ and, for English-speaking Canada, TV Ontario. With the "Claude" books by award-winning illustrator David Wojtowycz now also available in Korea, the important Asian market remains a major sales target, along with Latin America and Eastern Europe. "Fun with Claude" has also been nominated for Best Pre-School Series at the 14th edition of Cartoons on the Bay, the International Television and Multimedia Animation Festival.

ZDF Enterprises also handles the merchandising rights to the series for all countries save the U.K. As the series continues to pull in outstanding ratings on Playhouse UK, Disney's British preschool channel, interest in merchandising products is steadily growing. By enhancing its sales strategy with a special B2C microsite for young viewers and their parents, ZDF Enterprises hopes to attract further buyers for the series in all media. "Fun with Claude" is produced by distinguished U.K. animation firms Red & Blue, headed by Marion Edwards, and Dot to Dot, managed by Jo Killingley, in coproduction with ZDF and ZDF Enterprises.
