Welcome to the Delphic Festival - The Grand Finale of ITB Berlin 2012

Visitors, exhibitors and guests will celebrate together an extraordinary show organised by the International Delphic Council (IDC) in close partnership with the ITB Berlin.

Mary Amiri, the well-known radio and TV moderator, presents artist groups of three continents, among them: The Cairo Opera Ballet Company, Egypt; The Accordion Orchestra Euphonia Berlin, Germany and The Ryukyukoku Matsuridaiko Ensemble, Okinawa. Japanese dancers and drummers will lend artistic expression to their commemoration of the tragedy of Fukushima.

Kostas Papanastasiou, the Greek actor, guitarist, singer, poet contributes a special touch to the Delphic Festival. Kostas knows the myths of his homeland and its telling of times, when Delphi was considered navel of the world and Delphic Games were celebrated throughout - for 1000 years. Kostas will be accompanied by Duo Aёnaos and Bouzouki player Leftheris Stampouloglou.

The Delphic Friends

Similar to the Olympic idea which unites people worldwide in their excitement for sports, the Delphic Games of the Modern Era are uniting people of all nations through arts and culture. They offer a unique forum for a peaceful dialogue of all cultures. By preserving national and ethnical identity the Delphic Games are strengthening basic humanistic values, the worldwide cultural network and the international peace process.

Based on centuries of traditions of ancient times the Delphic Games promote contemporary arts and at the same time preserve cultural heritage. They offer protagonists of the international art and cultural scene a worldwide stage for competition, lecture, presentation, documentation and exchange of ideas. The most talented young artists will find their forum at the Junior Delphic Games.

International Delphic Council

The International Delphic Council - (IDC) is the highest authority for all matters of the Delphic Games / Junior Delphic Games. Main purpose of the worldwide, non-profit organization is the reintroduction of the Delphic Games and the introduction of Junior Delphic Games. Member of the IDC are National Delphic Councils (NDC's).
