Special prize "Safety and Comfort" goes to HYMER
Motorhome enthusiasts are increasingly interested in the subject of safety, customers are increasingly demanding standards from the automobile industry. "For a long time now, all manufacturers have offered safety equipment, for example a passenger airbag and ESP", explains HYMER CEO Jörg Reithmeier, "but always as expensive optional extras."
From September of the coming business year, the market leader is abandoning this path. All new developments have a safety package as standard. "This includes driver's and passenger's airbags, ESP, electrically adjustable and heated wing mirrors and ABS", Reithmeier summarises.
"We thus already fulfil the requirements specified by the legislator for 2014 onwards. This is rewarded by the customers, as the prize shows." In addition to safety, HYMER has also invested in particular in the interior furnishing over the last few months. New style worlds, high-quality fabrics and LED lighting, for example, round off the premium claim. "HYMER produces very safe, exclusive motorhomes", the certificate says in summary.
Hymer GmbH & Co. KG
"One only has to believe to succeed" - this motto of the famous Count Zeppelin also characterises the life of Erwin Hymer. In 1956, today's "Mr. Hymermobil" follows his father's call and returns from Dornier in Friedrichshafen to the trailer manufacture in Bad Waldsee. This soon leads to a landmark event: the engineering expert Erich Bachem asks whether he can build him a caravan. Erwin Hymer can, and in 1957 the prototype of the archetypal "Troll" is the result! The first motorhome, the Caravano, follows in 1961! Today, over 50 years later, the name HYMER has long been the symbol for premium motorhomes and caravans made in Germany, and the company the market leader in Europe. The readers of the trade magazine "promobil" again voted HYMER the top make in the industry in 2011. HYMER currently employs over 1,000 employees at the headquarters in Bad Waldsee.
