Symrise has now published new data which shows that SymClariol® can do much more especially in rinse-off formulations like shampoos and shower gels. In extensive tests SymClariol® was found to have a significant impact on functional properties of the formulation like foam and viscosity. This means that the product can be used to reduce the concentration of surfactants commonly used in rinse-off formulations, and thus reduces the irritation potential. This can make formulations milder, and it fits in perfectly with current demand for more eco-friendly formulations. Furthermore, SymClariol® is able to enhance the efficacy of other preservatives, especially against yeast and mold, and therefore can be used in combination with preservatives to preserve products without parabens and formaldehyde donors.
Its multifunctional character makes SymClariol® a successful example of what we mean by Symrise "AND" products - products that deliver added value, either in terms of quality or function.Reputable experts from the cosmetic industry are convinced by this innovative product concept and have just recently awarded SymClariol® with the European Innovation prize 2008 (second place) in the category "Most Innovative Raw Material Concept - Functionals/Recipients".
Multifunctional ingredients, especially for use in cosmetic formulations, are highly in demand, for convincing reasons: several applications are possible with a single material and multiple product claims and targets groups can be approached.
SymClariol® meets these demands perfectly and allows Symrise, a global provider of fragrances, flavorings, cosmetic raw materials and active ingredients, to offer the cosmetics industry a multifunctional ingredient approved for use around the world.
