KekoYoma gilt als eine der erfolgreichsten Independent Bands Chiles. Seit ihrer Gründung 2004 mixt die fünfköpfige Band verschiedene Musikstile wie Rock, Punk und Ska mit einer Vielzahl von Instrumenten lateinamerikanischen Ursprungs.
Bereits 2006 starteten sie ihre erste Europatournee. Anfang 2007 wurden sie zum "Vive Latino", einem der wichtigsten Festivals Lateinamerikas eingeladen. Im gleichen Jahr ging KekoYoma nach Argentinien und gab mehrere Konzerte in Städten wie Santa Rosa de la Pampa, La Plata, Berisso und Buenos Aires. Im Sommer 2007 ging die Band ins Studio und nahm ihr Debutalbum "El más weón de los caminos" auf, unter Anleitung des chilenischen Musikproduzenten
