SCOTT Sports Opens First Concept Store

High value bicycles and accessories, presented in style: SCOTT Sports emphasizes its innovation and design approach with two concept stores

(lifePR) (Givisiez, ) On Saturday, June 1st, SCOTT Sports will officially open the doors for its first concept store in collaboration with BIKE 4 FUN. One year after presenting the philosophy and first ideas to its subsidiaries, SCOTT is proud to welcome fans and friends at BIKE 4 FUN in Landquart, near Chur/Switzerland revealing a new dimension of bike shops.

When bikers want to buy a bicycle - be it a mountain bike, a road bike or an E-bike - they have various options: multiple models, diverse suppliers and last but not least many stores to choose from. Thanks to the world wide web, people not only research but also click and buy in no time. But for real cycling enthusiasts, buying a bike means more than just scrolling and choosing- acquiring a new bike is more like an emotional experience. As cycling is a highly emotional activity, a lot of bikers appreciate valuable advice, competence and friendly and open surroundings. The process of buying a new bike becomes a great experience. All these aspects are realized in the SCOTT concept.

BIKE 4 FUN in Landquart near Chur/Switzerland uses 800m² on two floors plus a show workshop, basement including space to stock mounted bikes in all sizes to ensure availability and fast delivery. Customers can expect to find a large variety of Mountain Bikes, Road Bikes and E-bikes. Predominant design styles are shiny gloss as well as oak veneer slat walls. Combined with concrete ceilings, the wooden elements and specific LED deco lamps give a very special, bright and warm atmosphere inside the shop.

The SCOTT Concept Store is dealer-operated and owned by BIKE 4 FUN, and not a mono-brand store. SCOTT Sports created the interior design elements and a whole concept for this strategy in cooperation with Kühleis architects BDA Munich.

World Champions Nino Schurter (XCO MTB, SCOTT) and Dario Cologna (XC skier) will attend the opening of BIKE 4 FUN. The second SCOTT Concept Store, owned and operated by V-Sport, is located in Zurich-Regensdorf/Switzerland and opened its doors some weeks ago.

SCOTT Sports partners up with Radlabor

Cycling is not only en vogue, it is an extremely booming activity and is seeing more and more fans. On the other hand, dedicated bikers and those who want to set themselves apart from the mainstream do request superior guidance and look for individual products. Bike Fitting and individual custom fitting is becoming more and more popular worldwide. That's why SCOTT partnered up with Radlabor, one of the most renowned institutions worldwide offering scientific know-how for bike fitting programs.

Radlabor is based in Germany and has subsidiaries in Freiburg, Frankfurt and Munich. With its background at the Freiburg Sports University, the biomechanic experts became a big player thanks to their high quality 2D laser based scanning software and seating position program. Radlabor's entire expertise implements both seating analysis and training expertise as well as a highly valuable pedal force measurement system that various scientific institutes worldwide use. They are not only commissioned by the German Cycling Federation to accompany the national teams, they also have a great history in advising and measuring world champions and Olympic gold medalists like Cadel Evans, Sabine Spitz and José Hermida.

"Our goal and our approach is to find the perfect seating position for bikers," says Dr. Björn Stapelfeldt, founder of Radlabor. "The BikeScanner, our patented laser based system, is a neutral analytic program. It measures all individual body data with an outstanding exactness of a 0.1 mm resolution. It defines the perfect bike geometry plus all adjustments needed for an optimized and utmost efficient position on the bike."

"Our Bike Scanner guarantees a maximum of scientific data acquisition. But the perfect seating position can only be realized by implementing individual needs and riding styles."

As an additional benefit for customers, SCOTT Sports offers Radlabor's service in their Concept Stores and helps riders to find their perfect seated position as well as tuning and adjusting their bikes in order to perform more efficiently on the bike.
