Scandlines extends services to the Baltic States
"With customer focus on our agenda we carefully listened to our clients' needs. Liepaja is regarded as an interesting port of call by our customers due to different hinterland connections. We therefore are very pleased to offer a corresponding service alternative now", says Søren Poulsgaard Jensen, Scandlines' COO Freight Based Network Scandlines will also continue between Travemünde and Ventspils thereby offering a high frequency product from the German port while providing greater coverage and alternatives in the Baltic.
The routes will continue to be served with the RoPax-vessel "Urd" (186 passengers, 1,598 lane metres) and early May the chartered "Envoy" will be replaced by the RoPax-vessel "Kaunas" which offers an improved passenger and lane metre capacity of 210 passengers and 1,570 lane metres.
