More opportunities at ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA to tap into growth in Asia's fresh produce business

Asia's fresh produce market is continuing its inexorable growth, and with more business to be done the region's leading fresh produce trade show ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA has extended its hours to 10:00-17:00hrs daily.

Growth stories in the Asian fresh produce scene cover a broad spectrum of product lines and markets. Mainland China presents the first among many, with headline acts such as 111 per cent growth in cherry imports in 2011.

Global suppliers are responding to that growth with expanded focus on the region. Peru's grape exports grew by an impressive 53 per cent in value terms in 2011/12 to garner US$328m, with Hong Kong and China accounting for a combined 17 per cent of sales, and Indonesia stepping up its intake as well.

The US continues to make significant gains in the region. Asia accounted for the majority of California's 345,000 tonnes of grape exports in 2011, and many markets in the region took record volumes. Exports of Northwest cherries, meanwhile, grew by 54 per cent in 2012 to reach 8m cartons, with Hong Kong and China increasing their combined intake by 1m cartons to 2.2m cartons.

ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA's new extended opening hours mean more opportunities than ever for exhibitors to take advantage of that business potential.

With almost 80 per cent of exhibitors at ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA in 2012 concluding new contracts or orders, and over 90 per cent gaining new customers or suppliers, ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA is a must attend event for the fresh produce industry.

"The event is good to meet new customers; you can meet everybody. I would say we have 10 per cent new clients added each year at the show," said Gurdip Singh of BGP International (India).

ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA takes place at AsiaWorld-Expo centre on 4-6 September 2013, and exhibitor registrations are now open.

To accommodate the extended opening hours, Asiafruit Congress - Asia's premier fresh produce conference event - will take place on 3 September 2013, the day before ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA opens its doors.
