The recently completed construction project of EnviTec Biogas AG, in Great Britain has an installed capacity of 499 kW. The combined heat and power plant (CHP) at High Hedley Hope Farm in Durham, in North-East England, started supplying power to the grid at the beginning of December 2014.
The plant which is operated with food waste, cattle manure, chicken manure and cattle slurry primarily scores with the EnviTec pasteurisation technology. "The pasteurisation of the food waste substrate plays a major role, especially in the case of waste-to-energy plants", explains Roel Slotman, sales director of the Biogas all-rounder from Lower Saxony.
