BELGRAVIA & CO. acted as exclusive financial advisor to paragon GmbH & Co. KGaA on its acquisition of LPG Lautsprecher-Produktions-Gesellschaft
Founded in 1983, LPG has 66 employees in Neu-Ulm, where its speaker systems are developed and manufactured. The product portfolio mainly includes tweeters and cone loudspeakers that are used especially in the automotive industry. LPG’s customer base includes notable automobile manufacturers, such as BMW, Volkswagen, Opel and Rolls Royce. In addition, LPG develops and manufactures external sound speakers that make it possible for pedestrians and bicyclists to hear electric vehicles.
The acquisition enables paragon to expand its technology base for acoustics solutions and to expand the value chain coverage of its Interior division, with paragon becoming a completely independent producer of speakers and digitally networked sound systems.
The purchase price for the 100% shareholding was € 3 million. The closing of the transaction took place on October 31, 2018.
Going forward, LPG will operate under the name paragon electroacoustic GmbH. The management will be taken over by Dr. Dirk Olszewski, simultaneously paragon’s Head of Development for Acoustics, and by Mr. Oliver Munz, CEO of paragon movasys GmbH.
