ROCCAT, the young manufacturer of professional Gaming accessories, starts with a set of three products: Keyboard, mouse and mouse pad - the essential input devices for ambitious gamers, which have been firstly presented at Games Convention, Leipzig, Germany last week. All ROCCAT products are being developed at the ROCCAT Studios Hamburg by our product designers in close cooperation with the European gaming community.
ROCCAT Valo Gaming Keyboard
The intelligent illumination and the display of the first ROCCAT gaming keyboard immediately draw your attention. All keys are illuminated with blue colour, with only the key characters and labellings glowing. This way the key labelling is clearly visible even in total darkness. The display shows gaming relavant data such as the CPU load. The intensity of the illumination can be set in three stages or switched off. A power save function helps cutting electricity costs and elongates LED life.
ROCCAT will shortly present a Software Development KIT (SDK) downloadable from the ROCCAT homepage. Using this SDK light effects and the LCD display can be adjusted individually. The SDK adjustments can also be easily transferred to the ROCCAT Kone gaming mouse.
The Valo housing has a special rubberized coating and an additional rubber outer frame. Besides improved grip the coating adds an attractive matt black finish to the Valo keyboard. The multitude of technological features hiding inside the Valo keyboard is not recognisable at first sight.
The first ROCCAT gaming keyboard is the world's first keyboard with 2MB of internal memory. This offers the player to store up to 20 completely different key maps including macros directly on the ROCCAT keyboard. This adds up to a total of 420.000 key commands including 420.000 timers. 41 macro record, pause and kill buttons are available to create macros.
Complex macros with up to 512 key commands each, parallel key commands and variable timing information can be created. All macros can be stored in 5 internal Game Profiles. Every single profile contains four layers for different key maps. This way a total of 820 macros and macro loops can be stored directly on the keyboard. Changing between these layers is carried out by pressing a single button.
Two Macro Record buttons, a Macro Pause button and the Macro Delete button permit recording, executing and allocating new macros within seconds.
To highlight important macros, 45 additional keys in light blue, dark blue and red are contained in the delivery. The advanced Anti-Ghosting function allows simultaneous key strokes with any information loss.
Certain keys such as the Windows key can be deactivated on the ROCCAT Valo keyboard. As a result unwanted interruptions of the game cannot occur. The internal 40MHz Turbocore Unit represents the power heart of this device. Every calculation is being processed internally by the keyboard. This enables timing information for macros and reducing the actual CPU load for the benefit of game relevant processes. Therefore this keyboard has twice the performance power of other high class gaming keyboards.
The ROCCAT Vale keyboard enhances connectivity with two USB ports and audio sockets for headphones and the ROCCAT Gaming Microphone. The external noises cancelling ROCCAT Gaming Microphone is included with the keyboard.
Rubberized feet ensure stable positioning.
