PURE, Marshall Amplification, Planet Rock and Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy are all set to ‘turn it up to 11’ this coming October by hosting an online charity auction – “RockStarRadios” - for special edition DAB digital radios signed by the very best of rock music talent.
Rock and music legends from around the globe have all been getting involved to make their mark on the PURE EVOKE -1XT Marshall edition DAB radios. To be auctioned off via www.rockstarradios.com for the whole month of October 2007, the highest bidder will win each radio. Names who have already provided signed radios include Noel & Liam Gallagher, Paul Weller, Alice Cooper, Bruce Dickinson, Gene Simmons, Ronnie Wood, Manic Street Preachers, Keane, The Feeling, John Legend, Queens of the Stone Age, Graham Coxon and Trivium, with many more still to come in between now and October.
All proceeds will go to Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy, the UK’s leading independent music therapy charity. Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy is the largest music therapy charity in the UK, providing over 30,000 sessions annually. Although music therapy is a registered profession with the Health Professions Council the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Charity receives no statutory funding and needs to raise almost £3million a year to continue to operate.
Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy has three core activities: the provision of music therapy to clients of all ages, the training of future music therapists through its Masters degree programme, and on-going research.
