With The Undiscovered in the Sky, available from December 2, 2022, two important German traditions have been merged, music and beer, in fact the album will be the first released in beer bottle format.
Domenico Rizzuto, trumpeter, percussionist, and producer, continues his music exploration between electrojazz, space jazz, contemporary and electronic music, moving on the edge of technoculture. Born as a tribute to Miles Davis’ first electric record, Miles in the Sky, this completely solo project does not forget the lyricism and roundness typical of the sound of European jazz, characterized by elegant and dilated melodies and far from asperities and free jazz impromptus. It is not a reinterpretation of Davis’ original songs, but a personal vision in electronic key of the sounds, atmospheres, colors and messages that Davis’ album has left in the music of our century. The songs’ titles don’t lie: Amalthea, The Undiscovered in The Sky, Doorway on Mars, Dark Matter, Super Puff, Imaginary People, Little Green Man and Galaxy Express. The whole album develops on well-defined themes such as the search for sound, the discovery and the unexplored. A research in which history and technological future merge into one, finding a new balance. As the cover features an artistic representation of the black hole recently discovered in our galaxy, its colors certainly refers to Miles In the Sky cover. By sampling, synthesizing and electronically manipulating many original sounds from Davis’ album, Domenico Rizzuto has created textures, rhythmic-harmonic weaves and atmospheres which, along with the sound of his trumpet, generate a new and visionary jazz.
