CYADS, this fresh and novel electronic synthwave-project is a collaboration of two familiar electronic acts in the scene. Armin Doerfler alias ‘AD’ as well as Markus Lindwurm alias ‘Cygnotic’ combine forces for a retro-new synthwave act to live out their love for the 80ies. On their debut 4-track-EP ‘Dawnload3r‘ you can experience the spirit of this darklighted neon era.
In their solo projects both artists realize themselves through an own distinguished style in electronic music. In CYADS these styles are merged together in a fresh electronic form of New Retro Wave and Synthwave, celebrating melody and sound from a time gone by …rediscovering and regenerating.
‘Dawnload3r’ marks their first release in this duo constellation and offers a bracing crossing of catchy neat melodies and yet moody vibes blended into phat analog retro-lines with a melancholic sentiment. About Armin Dörfler aka AD:
Plain simple his initials AD were chosen as the trademark of composer Armin Doerfler for his releases. He´s no commercially constructed media icon with intentionally flat and easy to grab surface, he´s neither DJ nor remixer in the EDM music scene but classically trained musician passionate in creating synthetic compositions from childhood on. Plain simple, because sculpturing authentic emotions and thoughts don´t need a disguise. His distinct sonic ideals are imprinted in the genome of all of his works over the last decades: From introducing electronica-style textures in the sound of Goth-Metal-veterans “Darkseed”, over his forerunner-debut of the 80s revival “First” or his collaboration with Harold Faltermeyer. These recordings show what it means to be raised in the decade of neon and chrome.

Markus Lindwurm, creator of the electronic synthtrance act ‚Cygnotic‘, grew up within the 70ies/80ies Zeitgeist of the legendary pioneers of electronic and progressive music. Shaped by ProgRock like Rush, Saga and Marillion as well as electronic godfathers like Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk and Vangelis as well as electronic movie soundtracks fronted by John Carpenter. Combined with the genetic code of 8Bit computer music all these milestones in sequenced sound evoke an everlasting devotion for synthetic sound, starting creating first own music on Commodore 64... shaping his musical mind within this resonant balance from dark-lightened moods that can be found throughout his compositions of timeless atmospheric synthesizer compositions and epic melodies in between traditional electronic arrangements und progressed electronic listening. So far he released 4 full-length releases with his soloproject Cygnotic.
