TRES 24 plus titan - the new 24-hour three-hand watch from BOTTA with a protected design, three-part titanium case and second indicator

(lifePR) (Königstein im Taunus, )
With its 24-hour display, the TRES 24 from BOTTA already deviates from the usual 12-hour time display. But it is also no ordinary 24-hour watch, because its hour hand moves synchronously with the position of the sun. 12 o'clock is up, 24 o'clock or 0 o'clock down.

For the second generation of the all-day watch, the dial graphics have now been made much quieter. Instead of the usual second hand, it now has the innovative second indicator and, as the name suggests, the TRES 24 plus titanium case is made entirely of titanium.

Three different titanium alloys are used for the new three-part case to ensure the best characteristics. This special case construction is currently only available from BOTTA. Like the entire watch, the second indicator is registered for "protected design".

Innovative second indicator replaces second hand for TRES 24 plus titan

BOTTA has developed the new C pointer for the new TRES 24 plus titan. It consists of a small second disc with an open circle printed on it. The opening replaces the usual second hand.

In favour of a calmer display of the progressing time, the second hand is deliberately omitted. The minimal movement of the "C" only becomes visible on closer inspection - nevertheless, half or quarter minutes can be easily estimated.

Three housing parts – three titanium alloys

Titanium is the most precious of the light metals and has numerous outstanding properties such as high strength at low weight, good dimensional stability or absolute absence of allergies. Depending on the type of titanium, one of the properties predominates. Thanks to the new three-layer structure, BOTTA has optimally combined these properties in the TRES 24 plus titanium.

For the most stressed top ring around the sapphire crystal, a particularly resistant titanium alloy is chosen, which is otherwise used in turbine and aircraft construction, for example. The central part of the housing is made of a mechanically improved version of pure titanium. The bottom itself is made of a titanium grade that is used in the medical sector.

"This case construction made of three different materials is very laborious and expensive to implement, but also provides the best wearing characteristics and further increases the service life of our watches. This makes the new case even better suited to our high standards and our philosophy," says Klaus Botta, developer of the single-hand watch and owner of BOTTA.

BOTTA design

BOTTA design - the pioneer of the one-hand watch
Designed in Germany, Handmade in Germany

Since its founding in 1986, BOTTA design has been designing and developing wristwatches at its headquarters in Königstein im Taunus. Initially for clients such as Junghans AG, Bestform or Watch People. During this time, the design classics Junghans-Solar-1, the UNO and the TRES series were created.

BOTTA design is also an agency for industrial design and develops products for globally operating companies such as Grundig, Volkswagen or Siemens.

Botta design has meanwhile been awarded 60 renowned design awards. Some models have now become design classics and have been included in the collections of national and international design and architecture museums.

The philosophy of Klaus Botta
Complicated is simple - simple is difficult: Klaus Botta is committed to developing logical products that are intuitive to use. He deliberately avoids any superfluous elements and combines functionality with design. One example of this is the UNO single-hand watch developed by Klaus Botta in 1986 - the world's first wristwatch based on the single-hand principle. BOTTA design's timepieces have long since become classics and are exhibited in collections of renowned museums worldwide.

To date, the industrial designer has received more than 60 national and international awards for them and a number of other products.

A central question in Botta's work is: What if the product had never existed before? Using the example of the watch, that could mean that: A timepiece with only one hand and a 24-hour scale would be the most logical of all watches. The one-hand principle simplifies the representation and recording of time.

Klaus Botta first studied technical physics at the University of Bayreuth before enrolling in product design and industrial design at HFG Offenbach. During his studies he practiced among others at Adam Opel AG and Albrecht Graf von Goertz, the designer of the legendary BMW 507.
