The Opel Mokka, a two-time winner of the “all-wheel drive car of the year”, has once again shown its many talents by winning the “Connectivity Award”. The SUV bestseller won the Auto Bild Allrad special award for the trendsetting Opel OnStar system. Opel’s personal connectivity and service assistant impressed the experts with its extensive offering.
“This Editors Award shows just how important connectivity is to the trade press. And we are a pioneer in this sector,” said Albrecht Schäfer, head of product marketing Opel Germany, who accepted the trophy from the hands of Auto Bild Allrad editor-in-chief Bernhard Weinbacher. “Around 50 percent of all new Opel models now have OnStar in board. Our personal connectivity and service assistant is fully in line with the current trend and convinces our customers.”
The Mokka and Opel OnStar are an excellent team: Since its launch around three years ago, over 500,000 customers have purchased a compact Opel SUV. In Germany, the multi-talented SUV with off-road capabilities enjoys a segment share of over 20 percent. And the new Mokka X, which celebrated its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, will continue the success story. The more rugged design, the refined interior and the new infotainment generation will all play a part. Opel OnStar, the 24/7 guardian angel with Automatic Crash Response, Stolen Vehicle and Roadside Assistance, is another key factor for success.
