ZDF Enterprises welcomes National Geographic Channel US (NGC) on board as coproducer for three documentaries
Produced by Spiegel TV Hamburg, the one-hour "Secrets of Angkor" delivers new insights into the ancient civilization of the Khmer. It was given its premiere broadcast on NGC in July 2009. The two-hour show "America Before Columbus" (original title "History of the Oceans") premieres Sunday November 22 on NGC and explores one of the biggest blank spots in the history of the New World. This program will illustrate with high end CGI and recreations how the Old and the New Worlds merged to become one, as they are today.
Along with "America Before Columbus", the film "History of the Oceans" (2 x 52') is also produced by Gruppe 5 Filmproduktion of Cologne, leaders in high-caliber documentary programs. Based on bestselling author Frank Schätzing's "News From an Unknown Universe," "History of the Oceans" takes viewers on a voyage through the past, the present and the future of the seas.
