B/one - first successful "Kieler Woche" and World Cup

Giebelstadt, (lifePR) - With twenty registrations in her first year the B/one class was one of the biggest keelboat classes in her field. But not only the quantity of the boats but also the quality of the sailors characterized the first regatta. Gorden Nickel, shooting star in the Platu 25 class wins with one point ahead to X 99 Worldchampion Christian Soyka. Tobias Schadewald our hope for 49er Olympia and his crew of STG sailors finished third. Next to the Starboat Woldchampion Alexander Hagen more German top ranked sailors just as Constanze Scholz, Marcus Baur and Magnus Masilge from the Sailing Team Germany fought for a top result.

Wind conditions of 18 to 23 Knot.

Olympia steersman and Kieler Woche winner 2012 Tobias Schadewald:

"I really had a lot of fun sailing the B/one. This ship is very clear to sail because the possibilities to trim the boat are reduced to the essential. However it is very challenging to sail it and especially in shallow water the boat is giving its full potential of speed! I am really looking forward to the next time!"

Starboat Worldchampion and Sailing legend Alexander Hagen:

It was really a lot of fun for me and my team. The week was very windy and really challenging. That's why we of course had to learn it the hard way but we were fast in adjusting and on the third day our pole only reached up straight and the bow in the right direction just as it should be.

As a steersman I liked it a lot how easy the B/one can be directed and immediately reacts to the rudder. Just as easy to handle is the main sheet. Everybody who has ever pulled on a Starboat or Dragon boat will appreciate that. The same is also relevant for the Jib sheet. I was able to easily drive the Jib sheet at 5 Bft. out of my hand. A lot of functional stuff just as the jib halyard and the Main Halyard are solved in an easy and brilliant way. Such a new boat is of course still in its infancy. Some things should be done different. The good thing: all that can be improved with very less effort.

Next regattas according to the Audi Sailing Experience:

Audi B/one Sailing Experience 2013:

27. Juli: Anniversary regatta Chiemsee-Yacht-Club, Prien / Audi Centrum Rosenheim
13. August: Anniversary regatta Bavarian Yacht-Club / AUDI AG
28./29. September: B/one Cup Assiciation Seglerhaus at Wannsee / Audi Berlin

Audi Sailing Experience

Six brand new B/one sport sailing boats where bought for the events with the partner clubs with Audi. Depending on the weight limit three to five persons can according to their sailing skills sail on the seven meter long ship. Experienced sailors make sure that also the newcomers at the Audi B/one Sailing Experience will be satisfied and their sailing experience will stay unforgotten.

The B/one-Yachts will be hauled by six Audi Q7 to the events. Those are internal races in duels boat against boat or a field of six boats against each other and also the participation at open regattas. The aim of those events is the sponsorship of the sailing sport in the clubs and to promote the youth.

Incentives for team building get organized just as encouragement of the youth or promotion with non sailing -VIPs.
