The newly extended design line brings a soft, decorative flair to the bathroom - burgbad's alternative to the stringent geometry of collections with more classically modern lines. What's more, Sinea 2.0's entry-level price slightly below that of the previous range makes it all the more appealing for the quality-minded and trend-conscious target group.
Washbasin and furniture that merge into one The centrepiece of the bathroom furniture collection is a gently curved combination of mineral cast washbasin and vanity unit. The wave-shaped cabinet front harmonises with the washbasin, following its curvaceous line as it tapers towards the side. The same wave motif is evident in the shape of the bowl itself, which also narrows at one end. As a result, Sinea turns the furniture and basin into a single harmonious unit with a consistency rarely seen in the sanitaryware segment.
New design takes the wave motif to new heights
With Sinea 2.0, the same design philosophy that was already implemented so consistently in the original collection - gently curved lines combined with softly rounded mineral cast basins and furniture - has been taken one step further and given a thoroughly modern, slenderised flair. Rather than just retaining the organic-looking basic motif - the wave - the design of the washbasin and vanity front extend it into an S-shaped sweep of wave and counterwave: instead of levelling out into a straight section at one end like the original collection, the gentle convex arc of Sinea 2.0 transitions into a slightly concave contour that continues all the way to the end of the unit. And because both the vanity top and the front of the unit are unusually thin and slender, the uninterrupted surfaces look almost as soft and supple as curled leaves.
Ultrathin materials and organic recessed pulls create filigree good looks At the same time, the extremely slender vanity top and cabinet front - just 6.5 mm and 8 mm thick respectively - are a masterpiece of production engineering that has never been achieved before. In combination with the organic design, the ultrathin materials give Sinea 2.0 a remarkably filigree look. This fresh aesthetic is underscored by a new, organically shaped recessed pull for the doors and pullouts, which can be given additional emphasis by selecting an accent colour for the background or adding integrated lighting.
Sinea 2.0 gives those who prefer a clean, smooth look the option of replacing the recessed pulls with a tip-on mechanism - a sleek and highly convenient solution for opening and closing the pullouts and doors. And because the contact switch for the lighting is integrated on the side of the vanity unit, it too is invisible.
Washbasin with organic, asymmetric volume distribution in a wide range of sizes Besides looking good, the wave-shaped basic design of the Sinea washbasins has other, ergonomic benefits as well. The asymmetric distribution of the volume into a deep, convex section and a shallower, slightly concave zone makes optimal use of the space available in the bathroom and improves the accessibility of the basin and cabinets: whilst the deep bowl is easy to bend over, the shallow end gently wraps itself around the person standing in front of it and will delight female users by enabling them to get conveniently close to the mirror when doing their makeup.
Ever since Sinea was first launched, the vanity units have been available in various designs and sizes, with widths of 650, 900, 1200 and 1400 mm all the way to a double basin measuring 1600 mm across. And the design of the base cabinet in the original Sinea collection is highly distinctive too, with pullouts, drawers and fronts that describe a convex line before tapering into a straight section at one end. Sinea is also generous when it comes to storage opportunities, making the most of the space available even in confined areas such as behind the door or in situations where circulation space is in short supply.
Slender good looks: new washbasins, new partitioning options, new solution for guest bathrooms
Sinea 2.0 extends this repertoire of vanity units with two new sizes: a 1300 mm single basin and a 1500 mm wide double version. In addition, the Sinea 2.0 range also includes the classic 900 and 1200 mm widths as well. In the model with two pullouts, the height no longer has to be divided equally as in the past; instead, customers can choose an asymmetric look, with a deep pullout at the top and a shallower one at the bottom. And that's not the only new option: there is also a very modern, airy version with just one pullout measuring 320 mm high.
Sinea 2.0 reinterprets the collection's solution for guest bathrooms too: the new small washbasin has an asymmetric, organic shape with one side that ends in a soft forward curve. Thanks to its unusual contours, the washbasin is ideal for narrow spaces. Despite its space-saving size (height: 407 mm, depth: 380 mm, width: 670 mm), the compact basin therefore permits comparatively convenient usage: although unusually big for a guest bathroom solution, the 370x270 mm bowl nevertheless leaves enough space for a little ledge.
Furniture with eye-catching accents
In the current version, the vanity ensemble is joined by a series of two-door tall cabinets and one-door mid-height units (height: 1600 or 970 mm, depth: 350 mm, width: 400 mm). Sinea 2.0 adopts all the same elements and sizes but translates them into the new filigree look by combining an extremely thin door with the organically shaped opening of the recessed pull. By selecting one of the up-to-the-minute metal shades (gold, copper, platinum or bronze) to accentuate the recessed pull, customers can create some very unusual effects that bring the cabinets and vanity unit together to create a decorative whole. Sinea 2.0 also offers a range of individually selectable colours not just for the fronts but for the recessed handles as well.
As an additional element, the Sinea 2.0 range includes a wide cabinet (height: 1600 mm, depth: 340 mm, width: 600 m) with generous amounts of storage space organised by means of four tip-on doors and two pullouts. And last but not least, a new wheeled unit (with laundry bag; height: 450 mm, depth: 450 mm, width: 600 mm) brings even more movement and flexibility to the Sinea 2.0 collection.
Filigree lighting for the new, spacious mirror cabinets
Up until now, the Sinea range has included mirror cabinets in various sizes - some of them with top lighting - designed to correspond to the vanity units, as well as illuminated mirrors in portrait, circular or landscape format (the latter with a rounded corner). Now, Sinea 2.0 also offers modern mirror cabinets with one to three doors and extended storage space in widths between 400 and 1500 mm (height: 800 mm, depth: 170 mm), as well as particularly filigree horizontal LED lighting mounted at the top. What's more, the energy-efficient LED lights provide continuously adjustable colour temperature control, allowing the user to choose any setting between warm and cold white. But that's not all: Sinea 2.0's new standard features also include double mirrored doors, double power sockets, sensor switches, glass shelves and magnifying mirrors. Optional washbasin lighting is also available. The selection of illuminated mirrors has been extended by the addition of a new rectangular version with semicircular corners on both sides and LED strip lighting all round.
Natural-looking wood effect, elegant high-gloss lacquer and the option of individual colour combinations
The wide selection of finishes in all price categories makes Sinea an extremely versatile collection. Even in the entry-level category with thermoformed fronts, the standard palette includes not just four "achromatic" colours ranging from white and trendy matt grey all the way to dark grey high gloss, but a total of eight wood colours as well, all of them with a natural-looking grain for creating snug interiors. They include two totally new and up-to-the-minute finishes: Scandinavian-looking Merino Oak and dignified Velvet Walnut. There is also a more neutral, elegant colour spectrum of lacquered matt or high-gloss finishes.
Furthermore, Sinea 2.0 is one of the collections for which burgbad offers fronts painted in any RAL colour available to suit individual customer requirements, thus allowing the bathroom furniture to be adapted to personal preferences or a special design concept.
