has created a family and party game in which drawing and guessing skills are challenged simultaneously. With "Nightfall", Pegasus expands its successful deck-building card game series in the trendy horror genre ("Twilight", "Supernatural" and many more): this new battle of the vampires promises to be as action-packed as the classic "Magic the Gathering", but with a focus on fast-paced Free-for-All action.
For some time now Pegasus has been offering new impulses in board game products for families and avid gamerspromptly in the spring and at Essen. With "Santiago de Cuba", a true highlight from Eggertspiele, under the wings of Friedberger Publishers, will be appearing at the SPIEL 2011. Michael Rieneck, in his day co-author of the great "Cuba" has, with "Santiago de Cuba", created a tactical delicacy for the whole family. Not only a legendary rum, but also la revolución come into play. Now it's up to each player to successfully complete their business here. "Santiago de Cuba" captivates with easy rules, great variability, and - of course - caribbean flair. The beautifully designed game board will be released bilingual in German and English and the game is for 2 to 4 players ages 8 to 99 with one session lasting about 40 to 60 minutes.
"Pictomania" from Vláda Chvátil is a pure party and family game. In this drawing game the drawer and guesser are one and the same person. Only those who can draw the better pictures of the given terms and can guess what the pictures of the opponent are supposed to mean have a chance of winning. Rowing boat or canue? The given terms are not so different from one another. Yet the first level is easy to understand and play. For those who enjoy challenges, terms are offered in three higher levels of difficulty. Feminism or feminist movement? With increased experience, you can even guess that correctly.
What really gets you in "Nightfall", the new deck-building card game from Pegasus Spiele, is the final termination of daylight. Now the creatures of the night come forth to seize control of the world! In "Nightfall", you lead tenacious humans and vampires or werewolves alike to win control over an eternally darkened world. With this one, the makers of the successful fantasy card game "Thunderstone" have come up with something very special: as a classic deck-building card game "Nightfall" offers players a completely new gaming experience with direct duelling, an inno vative Draft for choosing the cards to be played in a session and, above all, a one-of-a-kind chain mechanism to play out creatures and resolve actions. As a bonus, "Nightfall" and the soon-to-be-released sequel
"Nightfall: Ausnahmezustand" give you 2 promo card sets each.
Things are going to get really dangerous with "Thunderstone": in "Belagerung von Thornwood", the third expansion for "Thunderstone", there are not just new monsters. Those bandits, centaurs, and siege engines can turn on you and even destroy parts of the village. Also, the new box for the basic game can be bought at Essen, likewise the independantly playable "Drachenturm" as well as the first two expansions.
New and set to start at Pegasus Spiele are also the steel box card game #9 "Onirim" and "Fluxx" as # 10. The game classic "Fluxx", now finally available in the German version again, is an entertaining, dynamic card game for young and old with easy rules. But careful - "Fluxx" is one of the few games in which the rules continuously change as you go along. The players, namely, determine the rules during the course of the game themselves. A cooperative card game that can also be played alone? Since "Onirim" that is no longer just a dream, but perhaps a nightmare. For in "Onrim" the goal is to escape a dream/nightmare-world and to be careful of cards that may turn out to be nightmares. The game itself is a dream to play and is already known as a gem among card games.
In the adventure game series "Quest - A Time of Heroes" players experience jam-packed adventures at the gaming table that develop to stories ready for the movies: simple rules and exciting, ready-to-be-played missions in part two, "The dark Cult" offer you gaming suspense with the twist of a wrist. At Essen, the adventure module #2 will be exclusively available for demonstration players and buyers at the Pegasus-Stand. Also available: the adventure module #1 released earlier this year.
Another game where everything is possible is "Mondo". The hit family game from Michael Schacht has received a recommendation from the "Spiel es Jahres"-Jury. The aim of "Mondo" is to quickly build your own globe, using the various game pieces. New for Essen will be the Expansion Sets A and B, which will allow additional players to participate. Another critical darling is our next game "Strasbourg", nominated for the "Kennerspiel des Jahres" award. In this game, players struggle to place as many family members as possible in the cities prestigious guilds in the 15. century. But be careful- only those who manage to keep an eye on their opponent's plan will manage to gain the most influence."Strasbourg" is an easy-to-learn game of suprising depth with mechanics which empower player choice.
Finally, you can now add a range of classic monsters to our popular guessing game "Werwölfe", which is especially suited for huge crowds of up to 68 players. "Werwölfe - Filmmonster" and "Werwölfe - Kreaturen der Nacht" both add horrifying new roles for the players to slip into.
