The human resources departments of Continental's three automotive divisions (Chassis & Safety, Powertrain and Interior) that are currently powering the integration process in the wake of the Siemens-VDO acquisition have thus initiated the "Promoting Individual Mobility" project. This will support the internal job change process through regular job supplements in the staff newspaper as well as by targeted use of a new, internal database. "Even if staffing adjustments become necessary at various locations - which is of course associated with an integration process of the size of VDO - we can offer numerous alternatives for personal career development at a variety of other locations," emphasized Wente.
In addition to the job supplements and database ads, internal job exchanges will increasingly be used. They have already been successful at the Regensburg, Schwalbach and Frankfurt-Rödelheim locations as well as in France, for example.
The new project also supports initiatives of the international automotive supplier, which has supported internal job changes in recent years via cross moves. Staff either change to a different function, a different division or business unit, or even a different country. "We have consistently had very good experiences with this," said Wente.
