Mr. Hildmann previously ran BBDO Germany for ten years, from 1990 through 1999, during which time it grew from number three to number one in the market by adding new communication capabilities like direct, sales promotion, digital, and public relations. For the past two years, Mr. Hildmann has been working with other Omnicom companies as a consultant, most recently with DDB Germany.
"BBDO is the only agency that could draw me back to full-time work," said Mr. Hildmann. "Creatively, they’ve been doing very well and now rank number three in the country. We have to build on this momentum and make certain that we are performing at the highest level on behalf of our clients."
Said Andrew Robertson, President and CEO, BBDO Worldwide, "Anton knows us and we know Anton. I am delighted that he is returning to BBDO." Mr. Robertson added, "BBDO Germany is in a stronger place than when Klaus-Peter took over two years ago. We are very grateful for Klaus-Peter’s contributions, appreciate his commitment to a smooth transition, and wish him nothing but the best."
"I have enjoyed my time at BBDO and am grateful to have had the chance to run the number one group in Germany," said Mr. Schulz.
Mr. Hildmann joins BBDO Germany February 11. Mr. Schulz will remain with BBDO over the next few months to ensure a seamless transition.
In 2007, BBDO Germany won the most Lions of any agency in the country at the International Advertising Festival in Cannes, while BBDO Worldwide was named the first ever "Network of the Year." BBDO was also named the winner of The Gunn Report as the most awarded agency network in the world for the second year in a row, as well as the winner of the The Big Won as the most awarded agency network across every media discipline combined – television, radio, press, poster, digital and direct.
