Janina, you are just 25-years old and you have collected the renowned SENSES Wellness Award from Burj Al Arab in Dubai and brought it back to Germany for your team in Hennef. What was that like? To be the sole representative of Airnergy in the midst of the World's wellness and spa experts, in the presence of more than 200 guests and the reigning Miss India?
Janina: It was unbelievable and very exciting - to be a guest in a strange country in such fabulous surroundings and at such an event. There were even members of the royal family there. I was buzzing with anticipation.
An opportunity like that doesn't come along every day and I was really looking forward to it - and I was not disappointed. The awards ceremony was a very imposing event.
But I wasn't completely on my own as I had travelled to Dubai in the company of Christopher Wright, our exclusive importer of Airnergy in the UK, who had also gone to attend the event.
Of course it would have been nice to share the experience with some of my colleagues from Hennef, in particular with Mr Guido Bierther, our Director, but because of the heavy workload in all areas of the firm, especially the production and R & D departments, this just wasn't possible.
What is the attitude to Airnergy Spirovital therapy there, given that the aim is to educate people about the need to breathe healthily so that this can then be become established in medical and spa facilities?
Janina: The first thing to say is that with Airnergy it is possible to bring "the air from forest and mountain" to the desert, so to speak, because relatively little photosynthesis takes place there. Also the people there live almost exclusively in air-conditioned environments and this is why they are so open to the idea of our little air spas and greatly value the benefit to their health.
That is the reason why Airnergy is enjoying such buoyant growth in the Middle East market.
Janina, while you were in Dubai you had an unscheduled "quasi-diplomatic" meeting?!
Janina: You are obviously referring to the meeting with H. R. H. Princess Fay Jahan Ara. Oh yes, she really is a very impressive person and I had already met her at the gala itself. This was when we donated our exclusive AvantGarde model, gilded with 24 carat gold and decorated with 4,400 Swarovski crystals, to her foundation, "The RACH foundation" (www.rachfoundation.org). This is a foundation dedicated to supporting people who live on the streets in India and frequently suffer from poor health to empower them to break out of their poverty and hardship.
Originally we had planned to auction the device at the Senses Award Gala in the presence of the elite audience and experts from the international wellness and spa sector and to donate the profits to the foundation. However, because official authorisation is required for "auctions", this will now take place in November in Dubai as part of another event. But we do not have any more information about this at present.
I was particularly honoured that after the Senses Award gala Princess Fay wanted to meet me again the following evening in a private setting to say thank you for the donation. We also had the opportunity to talk about her work in India. She is an extremely sincere and experienced lady who supports this work with all her heart and soul. When she was telling me about their current projects her eyes filled with tears at the thought of the misery that she had witnessed there. That was a very moving moment.
Janina, how often do you personally use Spirovital therapy?
Janina: Since I am lucky enough to have an Airnergy device in my office, I try to use it every day during the week. But even I must admit that sometimes I simply forget to switch it on while I am working, although it is really comfortable to use and I do not have to stop what I am doing. However, on days when I am going to be exercising I make a point of using the device beforehand because it enhances my performance and enables me to recover more quickly afterwards.
How have professional circles in Germany reacted to the award?
