Already fit for tomorrow: The economic Euro 6d-TEMP engine line-up
The new Combo has been developed with the ambition of offering top efficiency to professionals and the lowest cost of ownership in the segment thanks to an all-new architecture, ingenious packaging and unique technologies resulting in an extremely efficient transporter. The 1.5-litre diesel units with outputs ranging from 56 kW/76 hp to 96 kW/130 hp (fuel consumption1: urban 5.1-4.1 l/100 km, extra-urban 4.4-3.8 l/100 km, combined 4.6-3.9 l/100 km, 123-104 g/km CO2) play their part in this. They all already meet the stringent Euro 6d-TEMP emissions standard. Customers also have the choice between five and six-speed manual transmissions along with the low-friction eight-speed automatic transmission, which is celebrating its Opel LCV (light commercial vehicle) debut. When ordered with the eight-speed automatic transmission, the Combo comes with the top-of-the-line 96 kW/130 hp unit (fuel consumption1: urban 4.7-4.5 l/100 km, extra-urban 4.4-4.1 l/100 km, combined 4.5-4.3 l/100 km, 119-113 g/km CO2).
Flexible and spacious: The various Combo variants
From the start, the Opel Combo is available in numerous variants including the 4.40-metre standard version, the 4.75-metre XL type (from €20,050) and a spacious five seater crew cab with two sliding doors as standard (from €21,550). Opel’s new compact transporter also outshines most of its main competitors with a load volume of up to 4.4m3, a payload of up to 1,000 kg and a loading length of up to 3,440 mm for objects and work material. The cleverly design loading area is wide enough between the wheel arches to enable the loading of up to two Euro pallets. And extremely long utensils such as wooden planks can be stowed at an angle thanks to the optional roof hatch (€350). And, a unique feature in the segment is also introduced in the new generation Opel Combo: a sensor-based overload indicator1 that, at a press of a button, allows the driver to make sure the vehicle is not overloaded.
Leading technologies at affordable prices: The modern driver assistance systems
In addition, the new Combo comes with further innovative technologies and assistance systems that make driving, manoeuvring, transporting goods or a crew easier, safer and more comfortable. This includes Forward Collision Alert with pedestrian detection and Automatic Emergency Braking[2], Lane Keep Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition (available for €980 with the safety feature pack) or Cruise Control (€100).
The optional Surround Rear Vision1 (€350) supports the driver and greatly improves visibility of panel vans or of fully loaded vehicles. Furthermore, a second camera in the exterior door mirror on the passenger side ensures that the driver no longer needs to worry about the blind spot on this side of the vehicle. And, the new Combo can also be equipped with the new, sensor-based Flank Guard[3]system that helps prevent annoying and expensive bumps or scratches while turning at low speeds (available in combination with Side Blind Spot Alert and electric side door mirrors for €250). Those professionals whose workplaces require enhanced traction in mud, sand or snow can also upgrade their front-wheel drive Combo with the electronic IntelliGrip traction control system and with the “worksite” set-up (Grip & Go pack including Hill Descent Control for €700).
Elsewhere, the new generation of infotainment systems ensures outstanding on-board connectivity. The Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible Multimedia Radio and Multimedia Navi Pro systems can easily be controlled via the prominent 8-inch colour easy-to-read, easy-to-reach touchscreen. The integrated navigation system of the top-of-the-line unit with European maps and 3D navigation also shows TMC (Traffic Messaging Channel) updates, thus ensuring that drivers can always select the perfect route to get to their customers and avoid traffic jams.
