The second session at Snowpark Stubai Zoo is in full effect as the stars prepare themselves for the Olympic winter at Stubai until November 22, 2017. Many of them are already in contest mode, as the results of the Snowboard Big Air World Cup in Milan, Italy, showed on Sunday: Five of the six female and male riders who took to the podium trained at Stubai before!

More than one metre of fresh snow made for great conditions during the first session of the Stubai Prime Park Sessions last week. Top riders such as freeskiers Bobby Brown (USA), Øystein Bråten (NOR) and McRae Williams (USA) practiced their runs for the Olympic season on the gigantic, perfectly shaped kickers of Stubai Zoo. The snowboarders’ contingent included the US team, who crowned their successful training with triumph. Chris Corning, Redmond Gerard and Kyle Mack took the first three slots at the FIS Big Air World Cup in Milan last weekend. Some of the female snowboarders who currently train at Stubai were also victorious in Italy. Anna Gasser (AUT) and Katie Ormerod (GBR) took first and second place!

Skiers like Jesper Tjäder (SWE), Henrik Harlaut (SWE), Fabian Bösch (SUI), Andri Ragettli (SUI), Alex Bellemare (CAN) and Alex Beaulieu-Merchand (CAN) have come to Stubai for the second session this week. Spectators can watch Scandinavian snowboard super stars Marcus Kleveland (NOR) and Ståle Sandbech (NOR) as well as 4-time X Games winner Max Perrot (CAN) practice their tricks.

The Highlight Edits of the first session and the daily updates on the Stubai Prime Park Sessions social-media channels show that international top riders are getting plenty of action at Stubai Zoo. Chris Corning (USA) improved his Quads, Vladislav Khadarin (RUS) stuck several 1800s, and Anna Gasser (AUT) took female snowboarding to the next level with solid back-to-back Doubles on the big kicker line. The freeskiers also expanded their stable of tricks, led by Bobby Brown (USA), who was already in Olympic form.

For the freeskiers, things are heating up this week, as the Stubai Prime Park Sessions are the prelude to the FIS Freeski World Cup Stubai 2017. It will be held from November 24 to 26 and is one of the final chances for riders to qualify for the Olympics.
