World Cup Vallnord - Vigé Lands His First Top 10!
Coming into Andorra, Vigé was quietly confident on the track and knew he could push hard. Sitting outside of the top 20 protected riders would mean he needed to play it safe in qualifying to ensure his spot in the finals.
As his start time rolled round the fastest time of the day was already sub 4 minutes 20 seconds and so Vigé had to lay it all on the line. Pushing hard from top to bottom his split times went green in every section. Crossing the line 2 seconds up on the current leader, the hot seat was his with a time of 4 minutes 15.457 seconds. Gaetan's time would keep him in the hot seat as the fastest rider when the camera's went live on RBTV and he was not moving fast. As the race rolled on Gaetan's time was looking stronger and stronger and by the time the final rider crossed the line it would prove enough for 10th place- a huge result for Vigé and proof that the young frenchmen has the what it takes to battle it out with the best.
' Coming in to this race I felt strong but at the same time very nervous, I wanted to break the top 20. To finish 10th is just crazy, I had a good run and I pushed hard top to bottom. I am very happy and hope I keep making these results happen' - Gaetan Vigé
Coming in to round 4 with the 21 plate, another solid ride for Brendan would see him finish just outside the top 20 but hold on to his overall ranking moving in to Lenzeheide. He is more determined than ever to find his place back on the podium and has all the ingredients required to make it happen.
