CSI1* Damme - Guests from 17 countries at the Equestrian Centre

(lifePR) (Germany/ Damme, ) From 25th to 28th February 2016, the Damme Equestrian Centre will be hosting an international tournament both for old hands in and under the saddle, and for the next generation of show jumpers. This weekend the CSI will also be welcoming riders under 25 years of age and pony riders for international comparison.

The initiative of the tournament organisers in Damme has gone down well. Competitors from 17 different countries will be taking part, and there are eight tests just for the “young guns”. There will be four specially-created tests each for the pony riders and the under 25s. And the young talents are ready and raring to get to work - including, for example, Johanna Beckmann from Brunsbüttel in Schleswig-Holstein, who won the German Developing Pony Rider Championship in Verden in January.

Young guests from abroad
Amongst the young talents heading to Damme are Georgia Founta from Greece, Finnish rider Sara Forslin, Swedish rider Wilma Liljeqvist and Sarah Lynch, daughter of Irish Nations Cup rider Denis Lynch. The number of international tournaments for the younger generation is limited - the process is different to national and regional tournaments, and this weekend will provide a valuable opportunity for these different procedures to be learned and practised.

In total, around 300 horses and ponies will be accommodated at the Equestrian Centre in Damme(/ Lower-Saxony from Thursday to Sunday. As well as the CSI for ponies and riders under 25 years of age, the weekend will also offer ten international tests for pros such as german riders Jan Wernke , Katrin Eckermann and Mario Stevens, as well as a Youngster Tour for developing horses.

Opening on Thursday
On Thursday, 25th February the CSI Damme will kick off at 2 p.m. with an international medium tour show-jumping competition. The climax to the weekend will be the CSI1* Damme on Sunday at 3.30 p.m..

Live action
The equestrian sports portal ClipMyHorse.tv will be broadcasting the sporting action live from the Equestrian Centre in Damme from Thursday to Sunday.
