The winning streak continues: BIOVEGAN is the Focus Business Growth Champion of 2018

Bonefeld, (lifePR) - What internal sales figures have already suggested has now been officially proven by statistics: The producer of organic foods BIOVEGAN can now proudly be named “German growth champion” with a remarkable average annual profit growth of 34 percent. Based on a survey by Focus Business and Statista, BIOVEGAN GmbH significantly increased its turnover in the assessed period between 2013 and 2016. The number of employees grew from 35 to 55.

In collaboration with the market research institute Statista, Focus Business magazine published in its latest edition (no. 3/2017) the list of the 500 fastest growing companies in Germany in the period from 2013 to 2016. BIOVEGAN came 12th in the category of food retail trade, gastronomy and tourism.

Its crowning as growth champion proves once again that the family business does pioneering work, not only in terms of following new trends but also in terms of consistently setting new standards in the organic production of vegan food. With its modern approach and great innovative potential, it is always one step ahead of the growing requirements of the consumers and of the organic or food trade. “We are very proud to be recognised by such a renowned institution”, Executive Partner Nicol Gärtner explains. “We owe this fantastic growth to our customers, who have great faith in our company and our brand BIOVEGAN, and of course to our employees; such growth would be impossible to achieve without their great commitment”, the head of BIOVEGAN adds.

For the third year in a row, Statista and Focus Business compiled a longlist of around 12,000 companies from all industries which have had a high turnover or employee growth in the last few years, in order to select the growth champion of 2018. In April 2017, BIOVEGAN was invited to take part in the competition. The corporation ranks 320th in the overall ranking.

One of the assessment criteria was a turnover achievement of at least Euro 100,000 for 2013 and at least Euro 1.8 million for 2016. The participants also had to be independently managed and their head office had to be based in Germany.

Biovegan GmbH

BIOVEGAN GmbH has produced vegan food in organic quality since 1986. The medium-sized family business was founded by organic pioneers Käthe and Claus Henneke. In November 2015, the organic pioneer moved to the new business premises in Bonefeld, which was built in Rhineland-Palatinate's first ecological business park. With its innovative wooden architecture and energy efficiency, it sets new standards with regard to sustainability. The corporation was awarded the 2015 Rhineland-Palatinate Environment Prize for the entirely innovative business complex.

A leader in vegan nutrition, BIOVEGAN is already responsible for many innovative milestones, from the first organic baking powder to the first sugar-free gelling agent with an organic seal. Biovegan products are exclusively available in specialist organic retailers.

The company exports to 48 countries and has also achieved great success at an international level: In the summer of 2017, BIOVEGAN won the coveted award "National Champion" for the second time in a row, once again gaining the title of most successful German company in the category "RSM Entrepreneur of the Year Award" of the European Business Award.
