alstria and Quantum lease to law firm Graf von Westphalen

Hamburg, (lifePR) - alstria office REIT-AG and Quantum Immobilien AG are leasing 3,500 sqm in Alte Post to the international law firm Graf von Westphalen on a long term lease basis. After the refurbishment that is to be completed by the end of 2011, the Hamburg office of the law firm will move into the second to fifth floor of Alte Post with more than 100 members of staff.

The Alte Post building is one of the best-known buildings in the Hanseatic City of Hamburg. It is located at the corner of Poststrasse and Grosse Bleichen (Poststrasse 11), and was built between 1845 and 1847 on the basis of plans by the artist and architect Alexis de Chateauneuf. It was last refurbished in the 1970s.

In 2008 Quantum Immobilien AG and alstria office REIT-AG entered into a joint venture for the refurbishment of the Alte Post building in Hamburg. A binding building permit has been granted in 2009. After the refurbishment in 2011 the building will accommodate office space and a shopping arcade.
