Now that the summer season is gradually coming to its end, there is no room for doubt: the past months have been extremely successful for Zell am See-Kaprun. And it is not least the number of arrivals and overnight stays that can be considered an excellent benchmark. In the month of September, for instance, the figure of the overnight stays rose amazing 13.28 per cent compared to the same month last year. While Zell am See registered an increase of about ten per cent, numbers literally skyrocketed in Kaprun: in comparison to September 2009 the picture-book parish at the foot of Kitzsteinhorn noted a record-breaking jump of 28.8 per cent.

Renate Ecker, managing director of the Zell am See-Kaprun Tourismus GmbH, takes these recent results as a clear indication for the increased appeal that the region has with holidaymakers. 'Thanks to innovations such as the Zell am See-Kaprun Card guests can experience the unique symbiosis of glacier, mountain and lake in a more intense way', says Ecker.
Since 15th May 2010 holidaymakers have obtained the advantage card for free at the reception of more than 130 partner accommodation providers in the region. Card holders enjoy the most popular offers such as the cable cars or a pleasure boat trip on Lake Zell without paying an extra cent. The card continues to be distributed until 15th October. But already now Zell am See and Kaprun have handed out 70,000 pieces - an extraordinary result!
