At Bad Waldsee visitors will be given exclusive insight into Hymer’s current vehicle production and can tour Europe’s most advanced manufacturing facilities for leisure vehicles. They will also have the opportunity to view Movera, the neighbouring specialist for leisure articles and successful supplier of accessories Europe-wide. An attractive supporting programme with entertainment in a marquee will be the icing on the birthday cake.
Friedrichshafen will be the venue for a wide range of attractions spread across several pavilions. For example, there will be a remarkable exhibition of Hymer old-timers and current leisure vehicles, all the way to the very latest models of the 2008/2009 season. The visitors will find a host of accessories including special anniversary bargains at the Movera show. Hymer’s partners from the camping, travel and event management arena will also be present with their special offers. Hymer will be staging events providing information and entertainment to onlookers. Experts will be on hand to answer questions on various caravaning subjects. Insight will be given into the work of the leading German caravaning publishers, plus a host of further surprises.
Hymer guarantees show highlights in a top-class light entertainment programme to be staged at the exhibition centre on three evenings. The kick-off will be on Thursday at 7 p.m. with the official opening. Musicians from Upper Swabia, where the company has its roots, will take the spotlight and will include the Gugga-Gassa-Fetz band, the Schalmeienexpress Steinach and the Woodlake Schalmeien. And on the culinary front, the guests will be regaled with a Swabian buffer.
On Friday evening there will be a buffet of Lake Constance delicacies, followed by swinging live music from the cult performer of German popular music Michael Holm & Band, who will sing evergreens letting the good times roll.
On Saturday evening Hymer will be holding a gala buffet and will be presenting "Stars in Concert": the world’s best impersonators from the music scene with hits from Tina Turner, Elvis Presley, Rod Stewart, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Louis Armstrong and many more.
Besides this special programme offering entertainment and information, Hymer is also providing a range of options for convenient overnight stay. Sites for around 3,000 motorhomes will be organised around the exhibition centre at Friedrichshafen. There will be a perfect infrastructure for about 500 car-caravan combinations at campsites nearby (camping park Gitzenweiler Hof, campsite Gohren am Bodensee, campsites Iriswiese and Wirthshof). The Friedrichshafen exhibition site, the Hymer site at Bad Waldsee and all the campsites will be networked by a regular bus shuttle service, meaning that attendees will not have to travel with their own vehicles.
The Hymer anniversary price for attendance at this caravaning event is 50 euros per person (no charge for children under six years of age). This price includes all the above-mentioned events in Bad Waldsee and Friedrichshafen as well as food vouchers. The shuttle service between the event sites and the camping sites is also included. A motorhome site (without electricity) at the exhibition grounds will cost 15 euros for the entire duration of the event. The flat-rate camping site charge per car and caravan (including electricity and water) will be 30 euros.
Caravaning aficionados wishing to attend can register at www.hymerwird50.de, where they will also find an itemisation of the programme. Those not having internet access can write to Hymer, Postfach 1140, 88330 Bad Waldsee, Germany, quoting "Hymer anniversary celebrations", to request a registration form. Places are limited and will therefore be allocated according to the order in which registrations are received.
