HOBBIT Star Dean O'Gorman to attend B3

(lifePR) (Frankfurt, ) Watch out, Tolkien fans: Dean O'Gorman, one of New Zealand's most prominent actors will be coming to Frankfurt in October, 2015. First gaining attention in numerous fantasy series like Xena, Hercules, or The Almighty Johnson, the 38-year-old now plays the role of the dwarf Fili in the three-parts of "The Hobbit" in the Tolkien adaptation by director Peter Jackson. He was immediately named the "sexiest dwarf" by fans.

In his current project, the biopic "Trumbo," he embodies the old Hollywood star Kirk Douglas in younger year in a series with stars such as Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, Helen Mirren and Diane Lane. Dalton Trumbo was a legendary American screenwriter who was on the "black list" of despised Communist artists during the McCarthy era.

In addition to his acting successes, Dean O'Gorman has earned a considerable reputation as a photographer. Most prominently, his portraits of war veterans from various eras re-staged with actors were met with critical praise. Through these works, he engaged with the topic of masculinity and vulnerability.

"Dean O'Gorman is at home in various genres as a painter, photographer and actor," said B3 Director Bernd Kracke. "We're excited to discover how this regular transcending of borders influences his creative work." O'Gorman will describe his artistic experiences from three worlds in the context of a B3 master class.
