"Logistics Day" - Audi offers look behind the scenes
- Nationwide event aims to inspire young talents
- Audi with a varied program of events
- Dr. Krog, Head of Audi Brand Logistics: "Potential employees get exclusive insights into Audi logistics processes"
Anyone pursuing a growth strategy as ambitious as Audi's needs perfectly timed logistics. The steadily expanding range of models results in increasingly complex flows of materials and information, from the customer order to the delivery of the finished automobile. "Intraview Audi Logistics" is a series of talks and tours at Audi in Ingolstadt that are part of the nationwide "Logistics Day". Students will see how Audi is meeting this challenge.
"Logistics is a cornerstone for success, particularly at a global company such as AUDI AG," says Dr. Ernst-Hermann Krog, Head of Brand Logistics at Audi. "Today we are giving participants a peek into various departments and functions in order to demonstrate to potential employees the importance of logistics."
Logistics Day is intended for advanced students in degree programs to which logistics is relevant. In a series of presentations, AUDI AG experts will use concrete projects to provide exciting insights into their everyday work and provide an overview of the diverse functions of logistics. The presentations cover not only international challenges, but also preseries logistics, which organizes the material flow as a new Audi model is being developed. This means that logistics experts are involved every step of the way from the release of the component through technical development to readiness for series production. The virtual planning of logistics processes will also play a major role in the future.
A tour gives the participants the opportunity to not only listen, but also to see for themselves. The program also includes a presentation about career opportunities at Audi. Whether placements, entry-level programs or dissertation projects -competent Audi representatives will be on hand to answer questions.
Parallel to the event in Ingolstadt, Audi is also offering an additional program entitled "Logistics to the Beat of the Customer" at its Neckarsulm site. In addition, AUDI AG will have a stand at the "Students Day in the Ruhr Logistics Metropolises" at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund. With this event, Audi, together with the German Logistics Association (BVL) - the primary initiator of Logistics Day - and other renowned companies, associations, organizations and institutions of higher learning is seeking to increase public awareness of the segment and, in particular, to inspire young people to pursue a career in logistics.
